| Police Station
The Portsmont City Police Department has a motto "Together Law and Order" but ended up taking the blunt of the outbreak. Once the barricade was breached, the cops became warriors of the old city.

| Hospital
Forest Green Memorial Hospital was a breeding ground for the parasite when it got loose. After the secret release of the parasites, many grew in secracy on sickened patients without ill effects. When the zombie outbreak officially started the hospital was taken down fast by outside zombies and internal infected.

| School
Because the zombie outbreak happened at night, classes were not in session. The Portsmont Elementary school was somewhat of a safe zone and most survivers flocked to the institution and barricaded it from zombies. An entrence for other survivors is on the roof and guarded by a shotgun-weilding police officer.

| Ruins
The Portsmont Lab of Genetics and Botomy was were the parasite was released as a prank unknowing what the bugs were. The parasites, mainly the evolved ones like flies, flew around and were eaten by fly traps and caused the plants to mutate fusing with other plant life into large vines and roots that ripped through the building rather quickly. The parasites infected the researchers and workers letting loose the infection while other infected were exposed to the mutated spores.

| Underground
Under the city their are twin labyriths of the sewer system and the subway lines. In the putrid conditions of the sewer the parasite spawned and made itself a haven in the lower bowels. The subway became a place where people could hide but so could the infected.

| Mall
The Portsmont Mall would have been a haven but three telephone poles tipped and crashed into the building causing a massive electrical fire on the west side of the building. Survivors might come and salvage some undamaged goods but might brave fire and infected to do so.

| Forest
A thick forest runs from the west of the city northward and around the front of the city in the north. The area used to be all forest and settlers cut into it to make a settlement and it grew into the present city. When the infection happened, many zombies and mutated infected slipped into the woods looking for food in a maze of trees and brush.
